Sesame Roasted Carrots

6 Tablespoons Butter

3 Pounds Thin Carrots, peeled, cut into 1" pieces

1 1/2 Teaspoon Sugar

3/4 Teaspoon Salt

1/4 Teaspoon White Pepper

1/4 Teaspoon Chinese 5 Spice Powder

4 Teaspoons Minced Fresh Ginger

4 Teaspoons Sesame Oil

1 Tablespoon Sesame Seeds

1. Preheat oven to 350° F. In oven-proof saute pan, melt butter. Add carrots, sugar, salt, pepper and 5 spice powder; mix. Place in oven. Cook for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.

2. After 45 minutes, carrots should be soft and lightly browned. Stir in ginger; cook for 10 minutes. Stir in sesame oil and sesame seeds; cook for 5 minutes. Season to taste and serve.
