Enter the 2012 Discover DuckTM Recipe Contest for Professional Chefs & Culinary Students

 
This year we are looking for original "small plate" recipes -- enticing, shareable dishes that feature the flavor and versatility of duck. Think outside the box and make us look at duck in a whole new way!

Submit up to three (3) original recipes that showcase duck for a chance to win one of these great prizes in one of two categories.


Chef Category
Professional Chef Prizes:
$5,000 Grand Prize
$3,000 Second Place
$1,500 Third Place

To enter the Chef Category, you must be a professional chef, sous chef or lead line cook in a restaurant or in a non-commercial foodservice establishment.
Student Category
Student Prizes:
$2,500 Grand Prize
$1,500 Second Place


To enter the Student Category, you must be enrolled in a professional culinary program/school and submit proof of current enrollment along with your contest entry.

   Accepting Entries
   March 1-June 8, 2012

Recipes will be judged using these criteria:
Accurate/workable (30%) – All ingredients are listed in order of use with
measurements and complete directions for preparation and plating
Creative/Original (30%) – Use of duck in a non-traditional small plate
(shareable) recipe
Simple (40%) – Easily sourced ingredients and ease of preparation
You may submit up to 3 recipes separately. Recipes may be submitted for a small plate or appetizer serving 2-4 people.

NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER THIS CONTEST. Contest open only to residents of the 50 United States and Washington, D.C., 18 years old or older. Read Official Contest Rules
