Duck Sloppy Joes

These Duck Sloppy Joes are a fun, flavorful spin on a family favorite. Ground duck is cooked in a savory, slightly sweet sauce and served on soft buns for a meal that’s messy, comforting and sure to be a hit. And it only takes about 30 minutes to make.

Ingredients

  • 24 oz. Ground Duck,Defrosted
  • 1 tbsp. Olive Oil
  • 1 Yellow Onion,Finely Diced
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper,Diced
  • 4 Cloves Garlic,Minced
  • 1 cup Ketchup
  • 1/2 cup Tomato Sauce
  • 1/3 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tbsp. Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 tbsp. Yellow Mustard
  • 2 tsp. Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp. Paprika
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1 tsp. Black Pepper
  • 6 Hamburger Buns,Toasted

Direction

  • Heat olive oil in a pan on medium heat. Sauté onion and green pepper for 3 minutes until softened. Add garlic and cook for 1-2 more minutes.
  • Add ground duck to pan with veggies and brown for 5-7 minutes.
  • In a bowl, mix ketchup, tomato sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire, mustard, vinegar, chili powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Pour the sauce over the duck mixture and simmer for 15 minutes until thickened.
  • Serve duck sloppy joes on toasted hamburger buns.
