Ingredients
- 2Tbsp. Duck Fat
- 1 Steak of Your Choice
- Kosher Salt
- Fresh Cracked Pepper
- 2 sprigs fresh thyme
- 2 cloves garlic, smashed
Direction
- Season steak with salt and pepper on all sides.
- Bring a cast iron pan to medium high heat. Add in duck fat and coat the bottom of the pan.
- Once up to heat, add steak to the pan to sear on one side for 3-4 minutes.
- Flip and sear on other side for 3 minutes.
- Add in garlic and thyme springs. Baste duck fat over steak for one minute. Continue to flip and cook until steak is cooked to medium rare at an internal temperature of 140 degrees F.
- Let duck fat seared steak rest for 5 minutes. Slice and serve with leftover duck fat, garlic, and thyme on top.
