Duck Samosa

Duck Samosa is filled with our savory ground duck, mashed potatoes, onions, peas and various spices. It only takes 60 minutes to make from start to finish.

Ingredients

  • 1 Yellow Onion, Finely Chopped
  • 4 Cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 1 inch Piece of Ginger, Minced
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Turmeric
  • 1 tsp Coriander
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala
  • 1 cup Mashed Potatoes
  • 1/2 cup Peas
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tbsp Oil + More for Frying
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • Water

Direction

  • In a bowl, combine flour salt, and 1 tbsp. oil to form a breadcrumb like mixture. Gradually add water and kneed until you form a dough. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
  • In a pan on medium – high heat, add ground duck and chopped onions, cooking until browned.
  • Add ginger and garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  • Stir in cumin, coriander, turmeric, and garam masala. Cook for 2 minutes.
  • Add mashed potatoes and peas. Cook for 3 more minutes.
  • Divide the dough into balls. Roll each ball into a circle. Cut each circle in half to make two semi circles.
  • Form a cone with each semi circle to create the samosa shape. Seal one side. Fill the cone with a tbsp. of duck filling. Seal the open edge.
  • Fry duck samosas in a pan on medium heat in oil. Cook for about 3-5 minutes.
  • Let excess oil drain off and cool for a few minutes before serving.
