Cheddar Duck Bacon Biscuits (Dog Friendly)

These tasty baked treat might look like dog treats but you can eat them! With delicious Duck Bacon at the center of this recipe, it is sure to be a tasty treat for everyone in the family!

Ingredients

  • 4 Duck Bacon slices
  • 2 Cups Whole Wheat Flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tbsp. baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt (optional)
  • ½ Cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 Cup low-fat buttermilk
  • ½ Cup plain yogurt

Direction

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Preheat a pan on medium-high heat for the duck bacon on the stove top.
  • Place single layer of duck bacon in skillet. Cook 2-4 minutes per side. Remove bacon and let rest on paper towels.
  • Chop duck bacon into crumbles.
  • In a mixing bowl combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Mix in duck bacon and cheddar.
  • Slowly mix in the plain yogurt and the buttermilk until dough forms.
  • Roll dough out on a flour surface. Cut with a biscuit cutter. Place on a nonstick baking sheet.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes. Let cool then serve.
