Duck Fat Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients

Dough      

  • 3 tbsp. Duck Fat       
  • 3 tbsp. Butter, Softened
  • 1 cup Warm Milk        
  • 2 tsp. Yeast      
  • 3 tbsp. Sugar       
  • 3 cups All-Purpose Flour       
  • 1 ½ tsp Salt
  • 1 ½ tsp. Vanilla Extract

Filling        

  • ½ cup Brown Sugar        
  • 2 tbsp. All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 tsp. Cinnamon      
  • Pinch of Salt      
  • 4 tbsp. Milk

Icing         

  • 1 ½ cup Powdered Sugar
  • 4 tbsp. Milk

Direction

  • In a large bowl, mix duck fat, buttermilk, yeast, sugar, flour, salt, and vanilla extract to form dough.
  • Cover and let rise for 40-60 minutes.
  • Mix brown sugar, 2 tbsp. flour, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt to form filling base.
  • Roll out dough with a rolling pin on a floured surface into a large rectangle.
  • Brush milk all over the dough. Top dough with filling mixture evenly.
  • Roll the dough into a large log, starting with the short side of the rectangle. Cut the dough log into 6 pieces once rolled.
  • On a pan lined with parchment paper, place duck fat cinnamon rolls filling side up. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Bake duck fat cinnamon rolls in the oven for 15-18 minutes.
  • Mix powdered sugar and remaining milk to make icing.
  • Remove duck fat cinnamon rolls from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes. Top with icing. Let cool for 5 more minutes then serve.
