Ingredients
Dough
- 3 tbsp. Duck Fat
- 3 tbsp. Butter, Softened
- 1 cup Warm Milk
- 2 tsp. Yeast
- 3 tbsp. Sugar
- 3 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1 ½ tsp Salt
- 1 ½ tsp. Vanilla Extract
Filling
- ½ cup Brown Sugar
- 2 tbsp. All-Purpose Flour
- 2 tsp. Cinnamon
- Pinch of Salt
- 4 tbsp. Milk
Icing
- 1 ½ cup Powdered Sugar
- 4 tbsp. Milk
Direction
- In a large bowl, mix duck fat, buttermilk, yeast, sugar, flour, salt, and vanilla extract to form dough.
- Cover and let rise for 40-60 minutes.
- Mix brown sugar, 2 tbsp. flour, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt to form filling base.
- Roll out dough with a rolling pin on a floured surface into a large rectangle.
- Brush milk all over the dough. Top dough with filling mixture evenly.
- Roll the dough into a large log, starting with the short side of the rectangle. Cut the dough log into 6 pieces once rolled.
- On a pan lined with parchment paper, place duck fat cinnamon rolls filling side up. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Bake duck fat cinnamon rolls in the oven for 15-18 minutes.
- Mix powdered sugar and remaining milk to make icing.
- Remove duck fat cinnamon rolls from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes. Top with icing. Let cool for 5 more minutes then serve.
