Duck Jalapeno Poppers

A delicious Duck twist on the classic jalapeno popper! Our Ground Duck is blended with spices, cream cheese, and cheddar cheese then stuffed into bacon-wrapped jalapeno peppers.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 tsp Sage
  • 1/2 tsp Basil
  • 1/2 tsp Chili Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Thyme
  • 1/4 tsp Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • ½ Medium Onion, Diced
  • 2 Large Cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 12 Large Jalapenos
  • 8 oz. Cream Cheese
  • 1 Cup Shredded Cheddar
  • 12 slices Thick Cut Pork Bacon
  • 1 tsp. Olive Oil

Direction

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Slice jalapenos in half and deseed carefully.
  • In a medium bowl, mix Ground Duck and spices to create duck sausage.
  • Heat the olive oil on medium-high in a frying pan. Sauté onions for 2-3 minutes then add in duck sausage and garlic then brown for 5-7 minutes.
  • In a large bowl, combine duck sausage and onion/garlic mix, cheddar cheese, and cream cheese.
  • Stuff each jalapeno half with the duck and cheese mixture, then wrap each popper with ½ a slice of bacon (cut lengthwise).
  • Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Finish in the broiler for 2-3 minutes for extra crispy bacon.
