Duck Breakfast Bagel

Start your morning with a bold twist on a breakfast classic. Our ground duck is seasoned and cooked to perfection, then layered on a toasted bagel with whipped cream cheese, a perfectly cooked egg, and cheese. This breakfast bagel only takes about 30 minutes to make.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz.Ground Duck
  • 1/2 tsp Sage,Ground
  • 1/2 tsp Basil
  • 1/2 tsp Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Thyme
  • 1/4 tsp Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 3 New York Style Bagels
  • 3 Eggs
  • 3 Slices of Cheddar Cheese
  • 2 Shallots,Thinly Sliced
  • 2 tbsp. Butter
  • 2 tbsp Whipped Cream Cheese

Direction

  • Combine ground duck with sage, basil, chili powder, thyme, cayenne, salt, and pepper to create duck sausage.
  • Separate mixture into 3 balls and form patties.
  • In a sauté pan on medium heat, fry duck sausage for 3-5 minutes per side or until they reach 165°F internal temperature. Add cheese on top of each patty with 2 minutes left of cooking.
  • Remove duck from pan and add half the butter. Sauté shallots for 5 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  • Split the bagels and toast in the toaster.
  • Add remaining butter to pan and fry eggs to desired doneness.
  • Assemble breakfast bagels in the following order: bottom bagel, duck sausage with cheese, shallot, egg, then top bagel smeared with whipped cream cheese. Serve immediately.
