Duck Fat Fried Mozzarella

Ingredients

  • 3-4 Cups Duck Fat
  • 16 oz. Mozzarella Cheese
  • 3/4 Cup Flour
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tsp. Garlic Salt
  • ¼ Cup Milk
  • 1 ½ Cups Panko Breadcrumbs
  • 2 Tbsp. Italian Seasoning
  • ½ Cup Marinara
  • Sea Salt to Taste
  • Fresh Parsley for Garnish

Direction

  • Cut mozzarella into 12 sticks or wedges.
  • Place flour in a bowl.
  • In another bowl, whisk eggs with milk and garlic salt.
  • In a third bowl, mix panko breadcrumbs and Italian seasoning.
  • Dip each mozzarella piece in the flour, then egg mix, then panko mix.
  • Freeze mozzarella pieces for 10-20 minutes.
  • Place Duck Fat in medium saucepan and heat to 360 degrees.
  • Fry each mozzarella piece in the duck fat for 1-2 minutes or until crispy brown. Fry in batches.
  • Sprinkle with salt and parsley then serve immediately with marinara on the side for dipping.
