Duck Fried Rice

This savory, flavor-packed dish proves that simple can be sensational. With just a few ingredients — rice, roast half duck (or all natural pulled duck), and a handful of fresh ingredients — it’s the perfect go-to for any day of the week.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Rice (day-old preferred)
  • 1 White Onion
  • 2 Carrots
  • 1 Bunch of Chives or Green Onions
  • 2 tbsp. Butter
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • Peanut Oil
  • 3 Eggs
  • Soy Sauce to Taste
  • 1 tsp. Five-Spice

Direction

  • Prepare rice or use leftover rice.
  • Chop onion, carrots, and chives.
  • Melt butter in large frying pan on medium heat — coat bottom.
  • Add onions, carrots, and salt to pan and cook until onions and carrots are soft.
  • Add Pulled Duck Leg Meat or Roast Half Duck to pan. Sear until crispy.
  • Remove duck and vegetables from pan. Set aside for later.
  • Coat pan with peanut oil.
  • Crack eggs into pan and scramble.
  • Add rice to pan and douse with soy sauce to taste. Fry to preferred crispness.
  • Turn off heat. Add duck and vegetable mixture to pan. Mix in five spice.
  • Add chives to pan and let rest for 5 minutes.
  • Serve in bowls and enjoy!
